THIS YEAR: With a year of training under his belt, sophomore James Feeney returns to the Cougars a stronger, fitter jumper who figures to fare well in the conference meet ... Has some extra work to do to qualify for the NAIA championship meets in the triple jump.
2010 (freshman): Appeared in multiple indoor and outdoor meets during his 2010 freshman season, his first back in track & field after a 1-year layoff ... Posted a long jump best of 18' 9 3/4" during the indoor season and triple jump best of 43' 5" ... At the GSAC Championships in Santa Barbara, scored 2 points in the triple jump, finishing seventh with a leap of 43' 3" ... Also competed in the prelims of the 100-meters and long jump.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-sport standout at Big Valley Christian High in Modesto, Calif. ... Was a 3-time All-Harvest Christian League honoree in the triple jump, setting the school record (45' 4") as a 2008 senior ... Also set the school record in the 100-meters (10.86) ... Earned all-league in football (wide receiver) ... Record 20 receptions for 230 yards over the course of 2 seasons ... Played 4 years of varsity basketball (forward/center), and as a senior averaged 8.1 points and 7.2 rebounds for the 24-6 Lions ... Attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., for one year but did not compete in any sport.
