THIS YEAR: One of the leaders of the team, 3-time All-American junior Zach Keene carries the Cougar torch in the short sprints ... Will once again press for All-American and NAIA championship titles in the 60-, 100- and 200-meter races ... Is the likely anchor on the Cougars' 4x100-meter relay ... Already ranks eighth on Azusa Pacific all-time top performers in the 100- (10.52) and 200-meters (21.29) ... Is a 3-time GSAC champion.

2010 (sophomore): Proved to be a surprising difference-maker in the Cougars' clinching of a fourth straight NAIA indoor championship during his 2010 sophomore season ... Was the NAIA runner-up in both the 60- (6.80) and 200-meters (21.52) to garner 16 points (the Cougars won the crown by 15) ... At the NAIA outdoor championships in Marion, Ind., scored a point by finishing eighth in the 100-meter finals (10.62) and advanced to the 200 semifinals ... Was the GSAC champion in both the 100 (10.78) and 200 (21.63) ... Clocked a personal-best 10.52 in the NAIA 100 prelims ... Registered his personal-best 21.29 in the NAIA semis.

2009 (freshman): Played a key role in Azusa Pacific's defense of its NAIA outdoor championship by running the anchor on the Cougars' 4x100-meter relay that finished fifth with a 40.89 ... Picked up his first All-America honor in the process ... Individually, qualified for the 200-meters but did not advance out of the prelims ... As the GSAC championships became the first freshman ever to win the 100-meters (season-best 10.69) ... Was the GSAC runner-up in the 200 (season-best 21.56) ... Recorded a season-best 7.01 in the indoor 60 meters.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in both track & field and football at Cedar Park Christian High in Everett, Wash., where he was a teammate with current Cougar Nicole Johnson ... Was the 2008 Washington state high school 1A sprint champ in both the 100- and 200-meters, setting the state records in both events at 10.77 and 21.62 ... Was also the Emerald City League and regional sprint champ ... Recorded 6 sub-11 100s during his senior season along with a pair of sub-22s in the 200 ... As a 2007 junior set the school records in the 100- and 200-meters (which he broke the following season) and in the triple jump (39' 4") ... In football was a wide receiver for the Eagles ... As a senior, had 8 receptions on the season, all going for TDs of 73, 60, 60, 60, 37 and 54 yards ... Also had TD runs of 47 and 64 yards for the 6-3 Eagles.

PERSONAL: Born July 13, 1990, in Seattle, Wash. ... Parents are Ken (superintendant) and Gina (children's minister) Keene ... Has 2 younger brothers (Noah, Dylan) ... His dad played football at Washington State ... Majoring in applied exercise science ... Enjoys dirt-biking and snowboarding.
