THIS YEAR: Junior Emily Nash has her hopes set on another year of improved marks that will allow her to press for All-America recognition in both the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon ... Competes well across most events but if she has events in which she excels, it's the javelin and long jump ... Ranks ninth on the Cougars' all-time pentathlon scores (3,315) and hopes to crack the program's top ten in the heptathlon ... Could be a key player at the GSAC Championships.
2010 (sophomore): As a 2010 sophomore put together scores that allowed her to qualify for the NAIA indoor and outdoor championship meets ... Scored a point for the Cougars at the NAIA indoors by finishing eighth in the pentathlon with a career-best 3,315 points ... Came back in the outdoor season to finish 12th in the NAIA heptathlon with a season-best tally of 4,342 points ... Finished second in the heptathlon javelin with a season-best throw of 113' 10" ... At the GSAC Championship Meet in Santa Barbara, competed in 4 different events but did not score in any of them ... Recorded career-bests of 26.70 (200), 2:21.92 (800), 15.97 (100 hurdles) and 16' 7�" (long jump).
2009 (freshman): As a 2009 freshman, jumped right into the main meets, competing at the NAIA Indoor Championship Meet in Johnson City, Tenn., in the triple jump (did not advance out of prelims) and the 4x400-meter relay, running the second leg for a Cougar quartet that finished fourth in the finals ... At the NAIA outdoors, finished ninth in the heptathlon with 4,297 points ... At the GSAC championships in San Diego, competed in 4 individual events and the 4x400, finishing seventh in the javelin (115' 3") for her best showing ... Posted other season bests of 26.87 (200), 2:23.30 (800), 16' 3�" (long jump) and 116' 09" (javelin)
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-sport standout at Christian Liberty Academy in San Marcos, Calif., where competed 4 seasons in track & field for Head Coach Todd Nash ... As a 2007 junior was named league MVP after winning the league titles in the triple jump, high jump, 300-meter hurdles, and 100 hurdles ... Was the CIF champ in the triple jump ... Was also a USATF junior qualifier in the triple jump and heptathlon ... Registered career bests of 3,636 (heptathlon), and 37' 2" (triple jump) ... Suffered through an injury-plagued 2008 senior campaign but did manage a career-best throw in the javelin at 106' ... Also lettered 3 seasons in basketball (guard) and another in volleyball (hitter).
