THIS YEAR: An outstanding heptathlete and hurdler, Breanna Leslie is looking to parlay a surprising All-American freshman campaign into an NAIA national championship sophomore season ... Is the reigning NAIA heptathlon runner-up ... Can perform in a variety of events quite well but excels in the high hurdles where she could also push for a national title ... Improved strength should help her in the throws ... Is a key player in the Cougars' pursuit of NAIA team titles in both the indoor and outdoor seasons ... Teams with senior All-American Tiffeny Parker to give the Cougars a powerful punch in the multi-events.

 

2010 (freshman): Put together a fantastic 2010 rookie season in which she claimed a pair of NAIA All-America honors, finishing sixth in the indoor pentathlon (3,451 points) and second in the outdoor heptathlon (5,110), becoming just the fourth Cougar ever to reach the 5,000-point plateau ... In fact, is currently second on Azusa Pacific's all-time scoring chart in the heptathlon and is fifth in the pentathlon ... In the NAIA heptathlon, clocked a career-best 14.27 in the 100-meter high hurdles, the fifth-best time in program history ... Also ran a 9.06 in the NAIA pentathlon 60-meter hurdles, the third fastest time in Cougar history ... Advanced to the semis of the NAIA 60 hurdles (indoor) and 100 hurdles (outdoor) ... At the GSAC championships in Santa Barbara, competed in 6 events and had a hand 23 points ... Was second in the high hurdles (14.74) and ran a leg on the 4x100-meter relay (47.93) that was the GSAC runner-up ... Qualified for the 2010 U.S. Junior Championship Meet and finished eighth with a score of 4,739 points in the heptathlon at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Ran 3 seasons of track & field for Head Coach Dan Kuiper at state powerhouse Valley Christian High in Chandler, Ariz. ... Was an 11-time state 2A champion, winning the 300 hurdles 3 consecutive years along with the 100 high hurdles and 200-meters as a 2009 senior ... Other titles came in the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays ... Helped lead the Trojans to 3 straight state championships as well ... Posted personal bests of 14.99 in the 100 hurdles, 45.70 in the 300 hurdles and 26.03 in the 200 meters ... Scored 4,216 points in the heptathlon to finish seventh at the Great Southwest Meet at the University of New Mexico ... Also played one season of varsity volleyball (middle blocker) for Valley Christian.
